Like contingent of up to 70 Australian defense force personnel will be sent to the UK just after the Christmas.
They’ll join a British-led international training effort known as Operation Interflex to bolster Ukraine’s defense against Russian’s invasion.
The Albanese government stresses that Australian troops won’t step foot in Ukraine itself.
Defends won’t disclose specific dates of the operation due to operational security, but it’s understood that personnel will arrive in the UK sometime in January.
This is a part of second support package announced by the Albanese government, it also includes the provision of thirty additional bushmasters to Ukrainian’s army, bringing the total number of armored vehicles donated to ninety.
This week’s federal budget saw an additional 200,000,000$ allocated to helping Ukraine with Australia’s total support for the Eastern European and now in excess of 655,000,000$.
